DIPG Warrior

Hello everyone,

Today, our family is reaching out to you for a little help for our Deniece Maebe Yanga who was diagnosed with Diffuse Instrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) last November of 2023. DIPG is the second most common type of primary brain tumor in children and rarely on adults. It affects the pons portion of the brainstem, rendering nervous system function impossible. Symptoms include double vision, inability to close the eyelids completely, dropping one side of the face, and difficulty chewing and swallowing.

The doctor recommended that the best treatment that will work on her case was a brain surgery and so she had emergency surgery that removed 70-80% of the tumor last November 24, 2023 in the Philippine General Hospital. So far, she was showing good progress after the operation and we were hoping that this would continue. Harder days came. There were days that she experienced severe jaw lock that led us to multiple hospital visits. Her everyday journey went just the same until about a month ago, she experienced extreme nausea and vomiting. She suffered from dizziness that some of her medications intended for it could not help. Last March 15 of 1 in the morning, she complained of having difficulty breathing. Little did we know that she already needs to be intubated. Her recent MRI scan showed tumor growth.

We are thankful to the people who surrounded us and showed love to Deniece Maebe from the very start. Due to your generosity, we were able to accumulate the cost of her 1st surgery and medication post surgery. We are coming before you again as the tumor is progressing aggressively. Thus, we are starting all over again. She is currently in the ICU of Fatima Medical Center and each day would cost 50,000php. Please help us fight for her as we can see how she is bravely fighting.

Any amount is a big help to our family right now. We need to maintain her medications and with the kind of illness she has now, her medicines are really a challenge. And that even we add up our income as a family, it will not be enough for the hospital bills and her medications. Please do also help us share this so this can be on a larger reach.
