I want to help my students to get new shoes!

Nice to meet you! My name is James Mungure and I'm a secondary school teacher from Tanzania!

I would like to support my students to improve their outlook by getting them new shoes!

Their families can't support them

I'm working as a Geography teacher in a secondary school

About 250 are attending our school and most of them come from families that can't afford daily expenses. Most students are from pastoral societies and rely on a single source of income which is crops and animals which is highly affected by price fluctuations and weather.

Therefore the main outcome is for subsistence at family level and therefore can not afford other necessities. That's why their clothes and shoes are broken and in rags.

The main problem are their shoes, because they have only a pair which they wear every day. It is for this reason that I have decided to focus my project in a single area of their dresses namely Proper shoes for school.

With broken shoes my students are not able to walk safely.

My students have to walk long distances everyday.

In their daily journey students have to pass through some bushes occupied by thorns and grasses, and they got frequently injured. With proper shoes they will be able to walk safely.

I would really like to help the students and make their life better.

By now I have managed to support some students in shaping their outlook making them dress neatly and I have been able to check how their self steem changes for good.

Saving for my students

As I've explained I'm a secondary school teacher. However my monthly income is not more than $100.

I managed to save some money but it's not enough to help all my students.

I know that if I can surprise my students I would make them really happy.

Details on needed funds

To make this dream come true and buy new shoes to the students I would need $900. I would really appreciate your support!

If I can collect enough support I would like to purchase the shoes by January.

I would like to do it in January because it's when holidays are over and school starts again.

I have a dream that I will one day be able to work with UN agency for saving the children. I plan to seek for scholarship to study masters in this field abroad, so that later I will be working in international level.

As from the grass roots, I intended to begin with my school students, later on moving to the nearby schools and finally at large scale and scope.
