This project has finished.
Nice to meet you! My name is Soumyadeep and I live in Dwarka, New Delhi (India)!
I've two passions: Japan and photography. My dream is to make my passion a real job, and for that I would love to study photography in the country of my dreams: Japan.
Japan is the country in the world where I met the most pleasant, polite, helpful and wonderful people overall. They even wait at the crossing if the light is red. They also always thank you and greet, and although not everyone speaks English, they do everything to help you.
Japan is a place that has been inhabited for a long time, and the country claimed a spot as one of the most powerful countries in the early days of the modern world. This, combined with a rich culture has meant that there are thousands of years of history and temples to explore.
Traditional habits and ethics still characterize a large part of everyday life, and it’s a genuine experience that you get when you are traveling around in Japan.
I'm like many of you, its a dream to go to Japan one day. I can't think of one person I know who hasn't been there and didn't like it.
Like I said, its a very rich culture and would be nice to go there and experience it first hand.
It has an interesting history, mythology, literature, art, calligraphy, theater & modern tech fads (such as video games, comic books, anime, video games...etc).
I do like to take pictures, especially of beautiful landscape and nature.
I'm not professional, but I dream everyday to become a nice photographer. Maybe, one day I would be able to take pictures about the pretty cherry blossom in Japan. For now, you can see some of my pictures taken in my country.
My dream is to join Tokyo Zokei University. Considered one of the best visual arts schools in Japan, Zokei University treats the art of photography as a form of literacy and educated its students accordingly, and that's why I want to study there.
Studying abroad gives you an unparalleled opportunity to live, work and explore a different culture. You will be able to learn about the people, the culture, the history and language of one of thew world's most unique cultures.
Living overseas will help you develop as a person, becoming independent and taking responsibility. It will help you to see things from new perspectives, and appreciate the differences between cultures, while also seeing the deep similarities between people.
Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom; meeting people from different cultures and making friends from all over the world are also important parts of growing up.
I'm just a student, so I don't have a current way to make this dream come true.
However, I'm trying to do my best in order to get closer to my dream: Saving money, reading and watching videos about japanese culture, trying to learn Japanese, trying to make nice friends from Japan in Airtripp... But without money is not enough, and that's why I need your help.
All received funds will be used only to make my dream come true, like the following:
・Flight ticket and lodging: $1,100
・Entrance and tuition fee: $2,100
・Daily life expenses: $400
If everything is okay, I would like to go to Japan in 2020. In the meanwhile, I will do my best to keep saving money and learning Japanese! Thank you very much for interesting in my project!
